Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced HGV Class 2 Driver to join our skip hire team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely operating a Class 2 Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) with a focus on delivering/exchanging and collecting skips efficiently and securely to various locations. Your expertise in commercial driving, combined with a strong commitment to safety and customer service, will ensure smooth operations and satisfied clients. Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class 2 HGV vehicle, ensuring compliance with all road safety laws and company policies
- Load and unload skips,, with care and precision
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to maintain vehicle safety and readiness
- Plan delivery routes effectively to meet schedules while optimizing fuel efficiency
- Deliver goods to designated locations, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation, including logs, manifests, and delivery confirmations
- Communicate professionally with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate deliveries and resolve issues promptly
Qualifications
- Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) driving license with a clean driving record and CPC qualifications
- Proven experience as a commercial driver, particularly with delivery routes
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations and transportation laws
- Experience in delivery driving, demonstrating reliability and punctuality
- Ability to handle physical tasks associated with loading/unloading skips safely
- Excellent navigation skills and familiarity with route planning tools
- Good communication skills and a professional attitude
