Enviraz (Scotland) Ltd is seeking a motivated and proactive Health and Safety Advisor / SHEQ Advisor to join our team in Glasgow.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a specialist contracting business and support the continued development of our health and safety, environmental, quality and compliance systems. The role is primarily office-based, with regular travel to company workplaces, client sites and project locations as required.
We would welcome applications from candidates with existing health and safety experience, but we would also consider a graduate in a relevant discipline who is looking to develop a career in health and safety, compliance and integrated management systems within a specialist construction environment.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Undertaking health and safety inspections and compliance audits at company workplaces and project sites
- Preparing clear inspection, audit and advisory reports
- Supporting the development and review of health and safety policies, procedures and risk assessments
- Assisting with accident, incident and near miss investigations
- Monitoring training compliance and maintaining related records
- Supporting the maintenance and continual improvement of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001
- Assisting with internal audits, corrective actions and document control
- Reviewing subcontractor RAMS and compliance information where required
- Supporting SSIP and accreditation submissions, including Constructionline, SafeContractor, CHAS and SMAS
- Assisting with PQQs, supplier questionnaires and other client compliance submissions
- Attending meetings with managers, clients and project stakeholders where required
- Providing general health and safety advice and support across the business

Essential / desirable experience and qualifications
- Experience in a health and safety, SHEQ, construction or compliance-related role is desirable
- Experience within construction, contracting, industrial services or a similar environment would be advantageous
- NEBOSH General Certificate or NEBOSH Construction Certificate is desirable, but not essential for the right candidate
- Internal auditing experience would be advantageous
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 would be beneficial
- This role may also suit a graduate in health and safety, environmental management, construction management or a related subject who is keen to build practical experience
