Role Overview
We are seeking a reliable and organised Goods In Operative to join our busy fabrication workshop. The successful candidate will be responsible for receiving and processing incoming deliveries, ensuring stock accuracy, supporting production and installation through material kitting, and maintaining efficient storage areas. This role is essential in ensuring materials are available for fabrication and installation projects while maintaining high standards of safety, organisation, and stock control.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and inspect all incoming deliveries, checking goods against delivery notes and purchase orders.
- Identify and report any shortages, damages, or discrepancies to the Purchasing Department promptly.
- Safely unload deliveries using a Forklift Truck (FLT) and other appropriate handling equipment.
- Ensure all delivery paperwork is accurately processed and passed to the Purchasing Department to support invoicing procedures.
- Prepare and kit materials required for fabrication projects in accordance with production schedules.
- Build and prepare installation packs for both commercial and domestic projects, ensuring all required materials and documentation are included.
- Maintain clean, organised, and safe storage areas within the workshop and stores.
- Move and store stock in designated locations, ensuring accurate stock rotation and inventory control.
- Support stock management activities, including stock checks and inventory accuracy.
- Work closely with fabrication, stores, purchasing, and installation teams to ensure smooth operational flow.
- Adhere to all company health and safety policies and procedures.
Skills and Essential Experience
- Must hold valid CB FLT (Forklift Truck) licence and experience operating forklifts safely.
- Must hold a valid clean driving licence.
- Must have previous Hands-On experience of working within Goods In environment.
- Must have experience of Mircosoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to accurately check deliveries and complete associated paperwork.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Experience of working within the fenestration industry very advantageous.
- Experience of working with aluminium extrusion very advantageous.

SALARY
To be negotiated - dependant on experience - very competitive for right candidate
