Overview
Are you a CSCS CARD HOLDER skilled and motivated painter or decorator looking for flexible, self-directed work? As a Self Employed Painter/Decorator, you will take charge of delivering high-quality painting and decorating services across various residential and commercial projects. Duties
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and applying primer to ensure a smooth finish.
- Apply paints, varnishes, wallpapers, and other decorative finishes with skill and attention to detail.
- Assess project requirements and select appropriate tools, materials, and techniques for each job.
- Communicate clearly with clients to understand their needs and provide professional advice on finishes and color schemes.
- Manage your own schedule, ensuring timely completion of projects while maintaining quality standards.
- Maintain a safe working environment by following health and safety regulations at all times.
- Keep accurate records of work completed, materials used, and client instructions for each project.
Experience
- Proven experience in construction painting or decorating with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
- Valid driving license to travel between multiple job sites efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills in English to liaise effectively with clients and suppliers.
- Knowledge of various painting techniques, surface preparation methods, and decorating materials.
- Ability to read project specifications and accurately estimate timeframes and material needs.
- Self-motivated with strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects independently.
- Nice-to-have skills include familiarity with different types of paints, wallpapers, and finishing techniques.
