Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and safety-conscious Telehandler Operator to join our construction team. In this vital role, you will operate a telescopic handler—commonly known as a telehandler—to efficiently move, lift, and position materials across various job sites. Your expertise will ensure smooth workflow, uphold safety standards, and contribute to the successful completion of projects. Responsibilities
- Operate telehandlers safely and efficiently to load, unload, and transport materials around the construction site
- Conduct daily inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any maintenance needs
- Assist with the setup and positioning of materials for construction tasks, including heavy loads requiring precise placement
- Coordinate with team members to prioritize tasks and ensure timely delivery of materials to designated areas
- Maintain accurate logs of equipment usage, inspections, and material movements
- Follow all safety protocols and site regulations to prevent accidents or injuries
- Support other machinery operations such as excavators when needed, demonstrating mechanical knowledge and versatility
Skills
- Proven experience operating telehandlers in a construction or industrial setting
- Valid commercial driver’s license with relevant endorsements for operating heavy equipment
- Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor equipment issues and perform routine maintenance
- Familiarity with excavators and other heavy machinery enhances versatility on site
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and supervisors
- Ability to follow detailed safety procedures diligently
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, lift, and maneuver for extended periods in various weather conditions
