Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and engaging Activity Club Leader to organise and facilitate fun activities at a weekly social club for adults with learning disabilities. The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in supporting individuals to lead fulfilling social lives, fostering independence and confidence through engaging programmes. Duties
- Plan, organise, and lead a variety of recreational activities tailored to the interests and abilities of adults with learning disabilities.
- Support participants during activities, ensuring their safety and enjoyment at all times.
- Foster an inclusive environment that encourages social interaction, participation, and personal development.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance and activity feedback to inform programme improvements.
- Collaborate with colleagues, carers, and families to ensure activities meet individual needs and preferences.
- Promote positive behaviour and assist participants in developing new skills through structured activities.
- Ensure all activities adhere to health and safety regulations, including risk assessments where necessary.
Skills
- Prior experience of working with people with learning disabilities strongly preferred
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with adults with learning disabilities.
- Organisational skills to plan diverse activities that cater to varying abilities and interests.
- Compassionate attitude with a strong commitment to promoting independence and social inclusion.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment whilst maintaining a positive attitude towards participants.
- Flexibility and creativity in adapting activities to suit individual needs while ensuring safety standards are met.
Thursday evenings, 6:45-9:45pm, plus 3 hours a week flexible for planning and prep (6 hours total).
Pay: £14.40 per hour
