Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Piano/Singing Teacher to join our vibrant, growing music education team on a self-employed basis on Wednesdays and Saturdays - there is also the possibility of daytime teaching in local schools. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in piano/singing performance and pedagogy, with the ability to inspire students of all ages and skill levels. As a Piano/Singing Teacher, you will be responsible for creating engaging lesson plans, fostering a love for music, and helping students achieve their musical goals in a supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement tailored lesson plans that cater to the individual needs and abilities of each student.
- Teach piano techniques, music theory, sight-reading, and performance skills.
- Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to encourage improvement.
- Prepare students for recitals, exams, and other performance opportunities.
- Maintain a positive and encouraging learning atmosphere that fosters creativity and self-expression.
- Communicate effectively with students and their families regarding progress and any areas for improvement.
- Stay updated on current teaching methods and music trends to enhance the learning experience.
Experience
- Proven experience as a piano teacher or in a similar role is preferred.
- A degree in Music Education, Performance, or a related field is advantageous but not essential.
- Strong proficiency in piano playing with knowledge of various musical styles.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage students of different ages.
- Patience, enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for teaching music are essential qualities for this role.
