About the Role
As a Utility Surveyor at Gridmark Survey, you’ll join our growing geospatial team, carrying out accurate and detailed utility surveys across the North East. You’ll work across a range of projects, using the latest survey technology to identify, map and record underground services.
Location
We are based in Castle Eden, County Durham. This is an agile role, combining office-based work with regular travel to project sites across the North East.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out utility detection and mapping surveys using CAT & Genny, GPR and other specialist equipment.
- Undertake PAS 128 utility surveys and produce accurate 2D and 3D deliverables.
- Collect, process and interpret underground utility data.
- Assist with topographical, measured building and other geospatial surveys where required.
- Complete site documentation, survey reports and data processing.
- Work closely with clients, site teams and colleagues to deliver projects safely and efficiently.
- Keep up to date with new utility surveying technologies, techniques and software.
- Identify and resolve practical surveying challenges on site.
- Support and mentor less experienced surveyors where required.
Experience & Skills
- Minimum 3 years’ utility surveying experience.
- Strong experience with CAT & Genny and GPR equipment.
- Good understanding of PAS 128 and utility surveying standards.
- Experience with Total Stations, GPS and survey data collection.
- Competent in AutoCAD, LSS, N4ce or similar software.
- Experience processing utility survey data and producing survey reports.
- Good understanding of utilities, construction and site practices.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Confident working independently and as part of a team.
- Flexible approach with a willingness to learn and develop.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Good understanding of health and safety requirements and safe working practices.
