Overview
We are seeking a motivated and diligent Demolition Labourer to join our construction team. This role involves assisting with the safe and efficient demolition of structures, ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, physical stamina, and an interest in construction trades. This position offers valuable experience in the demolition industry and opportunities for skill development across various construction disciplines.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the demolition of buildings and structures in a safe and controlled manner
- Use hand tools and power tools to dismantle fixtures, walls, and other structural elements
- Clear debris and waste materials from site to maintain a clean working environment
- Support team members with specialised tasks such as carpentry, roofing, or masonry as required
- Follow health and safety protocols at all times to minimise risks on site
- Assist with site preparation, including setting up barriers and safety signage
- Operate basic fabrication equipment under supervision when necessary
- Help with the transportation of materials using appropriate manual handling techniques
Qualifications
- Prior experience or training in construction-related trades such as carpentry, roofing, plumbing, masonry, welding, electrical work, or fabrication is advantageous but not essential
- Familiarity with hand tools and power tools used in demolition or construction environments
- Ability to work physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions
- Strong attention to safety procedures and regulations
- Good teamwork skills and effective communication abilities
- Willingness to learn new skills and undertake on-the-job training
- Valid UK driving licence is desirable but not mandatory
