Seasonal Part Time – Kitchen Assistant

Cuffley Active Learning Centre (ALC) is set within 96 acres of woodland in south-east Hertfordshire, just 15 minutes from the M25. We deliver high-quality outdoor learning experience for children aged 4-18 offering residential and day courses focused on essential skills, character development, and wellbeing. Programmes are tailored to meet the needs of visiting schools and students.
The Role:
Summer Seasonal Part Time contract period between April – July 2026 with Flexible start and end dates
20 hours per week (5 days out of 7) Predominantly Monday-Friday with occasional weekend work.
Earn up to £12.71 per hour
No qualifications are required for this role however, experience in a relevant role would be a bonus. All applicants will complete a comprehensive training programme in conjunction with our mentoring scheme before working at Cuffley ALC.
Responsibilities:
To assist in day to day running of catering department, preparing food for students and staff, washing up and cleaning of kitchen and dining areas, to liaise with kitchen team to complete and record cleaning tasks. Responsible for receiving and maintaining stores and other deliveries. Assist in service of food offer.
· Assist in the preparation and cooking of food offer
· Serving customers and fulfilling dietary requirements
· Washing up and day to day cleaning of kitchen and catering areas
· Putting deliveries away and maintaining storage area
· Assist in food service
· Assist in maintaining hygienic working environment
Training and Development:
· Progression plan informed using customer and observation KPI’s with CPD Sessions to help you achieve.
· Enhanced Safeguarding training.
· Food Hygiene Level 2.
· Access to Online Training Modules.
· Full induction and training plan.
· Allergy awareness qualification.
· All expenses Paid Staff Development trip at the end of season.
· Health & Safety at work.
Package:
· Earn up to £12.71 per hour

· 3 meals a day during working days.
