Overview
We are seeking a skilled Motor Vehicle Technician / Mechanic to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles, ensuring they meet safety and performance standards. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify mechanical issues using schematics and diagnostic tools
- Perform repairs and maintenance on engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, and other vehicle systems
- Utilise hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to carry out assembly, repairs, and modifications
- Interpret technical diagrams and schematics to facilitate accurate repairs and installations
- Carry out equipment repair and maintenance tasks to ensure operational efficiency
- Assist with vehicle assembly or disassembly as required for repair or refurbishment projects
- Conduct heavy lifting of vehicle components safely and efficiently during repair procedures
- Maintain detailed records of work performed and parts used for each vehicle
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs and maintenance procedures clearly to clients
Qualifications
- Proven experience in vehicle maintenance or mechanical repair is preferred
- Strong mechanical knowledge of automotive systems and components
- Proficiency in reading schematics and technical diagrams
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly techniques
- Ability to perform equipment repair and routine maintenance tasks effectively
- Physical capability for heavy lifting and working in various positions for extended periods
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Good communication skills with a focus on customer service excellence
- Relevant certifications or qualifications in automotive technology or mechanical engineering are advantageous
