Location: Calcio Training locations (plus other Calcio training sites as required)
Reports to: Head(s) of Phase & Club Director
Employment Type: Part time 6-10 hours per week
Salary: Competitive, commensurate with experience
Weekly schedule;
JPL SIDES; Coaches must be available Friday evenings and Saturdays for league fixtures, *non negotiable*
Some JPL sides also train Tuesdays and the ideal candidate would be available for that also.
Development sessions;
Candidates can get plenty of extra quality coaching hours if available for
Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursday, evenings

Role Purpose
As one of Calcio’s Lead Coaches you’ll be responsible for driving the long-term development of our players across the whole club.
Leading the delivery of Calcio’s coaching curriculum with excellence, and establishing a Professional-class environment that prepares children for success in football and beyond. You’ll be central to embedding our club’s Game Model at all sessions, ensuring every player experiences purposeful, technically rich, age-appropriate coaching that inspires growth, creativity and confidence.
Key Responsibilities
Coaching & Curriculum Delivery
- Lead and deliver high-quality training sessions aligned with Calcio’s game model and coaching principles.
- Lead some of our sides in the Junior Premier League
- Design and implement structured session plans that maximise opportunities for technical, tactical, physical, and psychological development.
Individual Player Support
- Lead the ongoing review of Individual Development Plans (IDP) for all of your players in partnership with relevant coaching staff and assigned team coaches.
- Provide regular feedback to players and guardians that is constructive, encouraging and grounded in clear development goals.
Games & Competitive Experience
- Oversee matchday coaching, ensuring structured competitive opportunities that reflect our philosophy and developmental objectives.
- Ensure playing time and game challenges are designed to maximise learning for all players.
Communication & Parent Engagement
- Maintain clear, respectful communication with parents regarding player development, schedules, progress and outcomes.
- Host regular review meetings and contribute to wider club player forums when needed.
Club Culture & Standards
- Model and uphold Calcio’s values of Bravery, Desire and Respect.
- Ensure all training environments are safe, motivating and professionally managed.
- Represent the club at internal meetings and externally at partner events or functions.
Performance Monitoring & Analysis
- Use video and performance data tools to support player development insights and coaching reviews. We use VEO, player spotlight and internal docs.
- Reflect on session outcomes and feedback to continually improve delivery.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
- UEFA C Licence or more advanced coaching qualification.
- Proven coaching experience with youth footballers, particularly within foundation or early development phases.
- Use of your own car to travel
Desirable:
- UEFA B coaching license or equivalent.
- Experience in a high-quality coaching environment. This doesn't have to be a pro club! A high quality environment anywhere
- Commitment to ongoing professional development.

- Strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Enthusiastic, creative, and forward-thinking in developing coaching programmes.
- Comfortable leading and inspiring both players and a team of support coaches.
- Highly organised and capable of working autonomously as well as collaboratively
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £15.00-£17.50 per hour
