About the Role
As a Residential Support Worker, you’ll be part of a dedicated team in our Children’s Short Breaks Service in Penn, Wolverhampton, supporting young people aged up to 18 with:
- Learning disabilities
- Autism & ADHD
- Sensory and physical needs
- Emotional and behavioural challenges
Many of our young people have experienced trauma or neglect, so your role as Residential Support Worker is vital in helping them feel safe, valued and supported.
Your day could include:
- Supporting daily routines and independence skills
- Taking young people to school, appointments and community activities
- Creating fun, engaging experiences
- Building trusted, positive relationships
- Supporting behaviour positively and safely
Flexible Working Patterns
We offer both Day and Night roles:
Days:
- Early, late and long day shifts
- Sleep-ins included
- Some split shifts
Nights:
- 9pm – 9am shifts
- All roles include alternate weekends
- Rotas planned across Monday–Sunday
What We’re Looking For:
We’re looking for people who genuinely care and want to make a difference.
You’ll ideally have:
- Level 3 in Children and Young People or equivalent (or willingness to complete with our support). A level 4 qualification will attract a higher rate of pay.
- Experience supporting children with additional or complex needs
You’ll also be:
- Compassionate, patient and resilient
- A strong communicator with good written skills
- Confident in managing challenging situations
- A team player who can also use their own initiative
- Someone who brings energy, ideas and positivity
Driving licence preferred (but not essential)
