Job summary
We are looking to recruit a dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our friendly general practice team, working across our 4 Bexhill practices. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting the nursing team to deliver safe, effective, and compassionate care to our patients.
Overview of your organisation
Vita Healthcare has 8 GP practices in Eastbourne, Bexhill and Seaford.
We have a nursing team consisting of ANP's, Practice Nurses, Nurse Associate's, Health Care Assistant's and Phlebotomists.
We work closely with the General Practitioners, Paramedic Practitioners and allied healthcare professionals.
In Bexhill our practices we look after around 17,000 patients.
The vacancy is for part time to full time hours.
Main duties of the job
- Undertake clinical activities including ECG's, blood tests, wound care, and NHS health checks.
- Support annual health promotion activities (for diabetes and anti-coagulation).
- Process samples and maintain accurate patient records using clinical templates.
- Monitor and maintain infection control standards, including fridge temperature checks and COSHH compliance.
- Assist with weekly checks of stock and calibration of equipment.
- Manage stock rotation and ordering of medical supplies and equipment as required.
- Communicate effectively with patients, carers, and colleagues, adapting to different needs and cultural backgrounds.
As part of Nursing Team and following training you may undertake:
- measurement of height, weight, blood pressure
- urine analysis
- patient NHS health checks and annual health checks
- Carrying out ECGs and 24hr BP monitoring
- Spirometry screening and FeNO measurements
- Warfarin reviews
- Phlebotomy
- Simple dressings
- Compression bandaging and complex wound care with training
- Administration of B12 injections
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £12.80-£13.50 per hour
