Koala is a global furniture brand bringing Australian design and innovation to the world. We create forward-thinking products that solve problems for people and homes everywhere, driven by our purpose to make the world a more comfortable place.
We’ve always believed in doing things differently, whether in the way we develop products, how we do people and culture, or the way we bring the brand to life. That mindset has fuelled our growth, helping us disrupt categories in ways that are creative, bold and often unexpected. While we’re a household name in Australia, our journey on the global stage is only just beginning.
Since launching in 2015, our furniture has reached homes across Australia, Japan, the US and the UK. As a B Corp-certified, customer-obsessed, and data-led company, we’re committed to revolutionising furniture for generations to come through design, innovation, and meaningful sustainability.
Role Description
Koala launched in the UK at the end of 2025, and we’re just getting started. This is a rare chance to shape the growth playbook for an early stage market backed by a proven, globally scaling brand. You’ll draw on learnings from our established AU and US operations while adapting to the nuances of the UK consumer and competitive landscape. If the idea of building something meaningful from the ground up gets you out of bed in the morning, keep reading.
At Koala, creative strategy is at the heart of how we grow, connect with customers, and make our mark in a competitive landscape. The Creative Strategist, UK plays a pivotal role in turning data and insights into thumb-stopping, high-performing ads that resonate and convert. This isn't just about making ads look great, it's about understanding our audience, adjusting to algorithmic shifts, and combining performance data with creative storytelling to craft campaigns that drive real results.
We need a thinker and doer who thrives on collaboration and innovation, someone who can spot an opportunity, build a creative solution, and see it through from concept to execution. You'll work with some of the best minds across growth, creative, and product teams, delivering fresh ideas that not only align with our brand but take it to new heights. In this role, you'll shape the future of how Koala shows up on social platforms in the UK, creating content that inspires, engages, and ultimately grows our brand.
Key Responsibilities
Own the end-to-end creative strategy process for UK Paid Social, using competitor intelligence, customer behaviour, performance data and platform creative best practices to produce new top performing ads.
Own the creative roadmap - tracking what's been briefed, what’s in progress, what’s ready to test and what’s next.
Focus on the customer by analysing internal data, reviews, forums and other sources to gather a deep understanding of the customer personas and their pain points
Run two creative workflows in parallel: iterating on existing assets to improve performance, and launching new creative to unlock growth.
Create clear asset briefs based on testing hypotheses (using customer behaviour, content trends and platform performance data) that highlight product USPs and feed the creative testing framework.
Collaborate with producers, creative directors, editors, external agencies and channel experts, both local and global, to turn a range of ideas into high performing campaigns.
Monitor ad performance in partnership with the UK Growth Lead, analyse creative data and continuously optimise for impact.
Report on creative performance using comparative growth metrics (period vs period), sharing learnings, insights and actions in weekly forums with UK and global stakeholders.
Increase weekly ad production velocity to support the growth of UK Meta investment, delivering a consistent cadence of new creative each month.
Drive performance through whitelisted creator ads by sourcing and activating UK creator content, and building a pipeline of locally relevant talent.
Work closely with Global Brand and Product teams to stay aligned on creative direction, brand tone and performance metrics, while tailoring output to UK cultural moments, seasonality and tone of voice.
Stay across trending content, customer experiences, product solutions, techniques and platforms to inspire fresh creative ideas for the UK market.
Operate with a lean team, bias-for-action mindset: prioritise ruthlessly, move quickly and find scrappy ways to ship great work.
Contribute to localising brand and campaign assets for UK touchpoints including paid social, organic social, email, on-site and landing pages.
Ideal background
3 to 5+ years of proven experience in a performance creative, graphic design or similar role, ideally with UK or European market exposure.
Portfolio showcasing successful paid social campaigns. Experience in DTC, furniture, homewares or lifestyle brands is a plus.
Copywriting and editing skills with high attention to detail, across short form ad copy and hooks.
Strong understanding of content performance techniques and testing methodologies in paid social platforms (Meta including Facebook and Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest), including creative trends and platform specific best practices for maximising performance.
Creative thinker with a strategic, data-driven mind-set, with a passion for combining data with storytelling to craft engaging and high-performing ads
Strong project management and organisational skills with in depth experience of creating briefs and guiding projects from ideation to execution. Comfortable owning work end to end.
Excellent communication & collaboration skills used to inspire and guide creative and data driven teams to meet business goals.
Experience working autonomously in a lean team or regional role, with exposure to global stakeholders across time zones.
