We are currently seeking a reliable and motivated Start-Up Machine Minder to join our team at our modern BRC‑accredited manufacturing facility in Willand, Devon.
Role Purpose
As a Start‑Up Machine Minder, you will play a vital role in ensuring production lines are prepared and ready for the day’s manufacturing schedule. Working as part of our production team, you will be responsible for setting up equipment, carrying out essential pre‑start checks, completing production documentation, and ensuring our high standards of food safety, quality, and hygiene are maintained throughout the shift.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career within food manufacturing. Previous industry experience is beneficial but not essential, as full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare production lines and equipment ready for the start of daily production
- Ensure the correct products, ingredients, and materials are available at your workstation before production begins
- Check that all production paperwork is prepared, accurate, and organised for the day’s scheduled runs
- Carry out machine set-up and changeovers to ensure equipment is ready for each production run
- Complete all line documentation and production records accurately
- Conduct Safety Start-Up Checks on machinery and ensure all relevant paperwork is completed and signed
- Produce and pack ready-to-eat food products while maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and food safety
- Report any equipment, quality, or safety concerns promptly to the Area Team Leader
- Wear and maintain the correct PPE at all times
- Support a clean, safe, and organised working environment
About You
- Previous experience within food manufacturing or production is advantageous but not essential
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment
- Good attention to detail and ability to follow procedures accurately
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining high standards
- Health and safety conscious with a proactive approach to problem solving
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills
Shift & Benefits
- Shift: Monday to Friday, 04:00 – 12:00
- Training: Full on-site training provided
- Location: Willand, Devon
- Holiday: 28 days annual leave (including bank holidays)
