Community Manager
Job Description – 40 hours per week

Introduction
Coventry Rugby occupies an important role in the local community, working hand-in-glove with the nationally registered charity, Coventry Rugby Foundation Ltd. to provide sports-related activities designed to improve the lives of local children and youth. We have a firm belief in the importance of sport in promoting mental and physical well-being and a set of values in what will be the next generation of adults. Through this activity we also wish to promote the reputation and good name of this historic rugby club.
Roles & Responsibilities
1. Proactively manage and oversee the delivery of all Foundation-funded programmes.
2. Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders including ... the Coventry Rugby Community Team, the Coventry Rugby Management Team, regional schools, regional community rugby clubs, major donors (e.g. Coventry City Council) and Foundation Trustees.
3. Create, document and regularly communicate consistent summary metrics to monitor key programme deliverables in line with programme objectives. Maintain full evidential records for all metrics.
4. Proactively identify opportunities to increase the awareness and impact of the Foundation’s activities in the local community.
5. Maintain a resource plan for review by the Foundation trustees as required.
6. Ensure compliance with Charity Commission regulations and governance standards.
7. Ensure that appropriate legal safeguarding requirements are complied with. Report concerns to the Foundation chair in a timely way and recommend any requisite remedial actions.
8. Help to maintain and grow Foundation income, working with bid writers to support the targeting of both new and existing sources of funding.
9. Develop and communicate new programme initiatives, ideas and plans to the trustees and liaise with the community team to establish their viability and workable plans to implement.
10. Oversee the delivery of rugby coaching programmes and foundation delivery in local schools. Responsible for building lasting relationships with schools and facilitating the playing of rugby in local state schools.
11. Responsible for building strong relationships with local community rugby clubs for the benefit of both Coventry Rugby and local clubs.
12. Overseeing the delivery of pre-match community activation before all home games.
13. Provide regular updates on Foundation programmes to Board of Trustees.
14. Always act with integrity and be a credible face and voice of the Foundation in relevant communications. Act as the “go to” person for all Foundation enquiries.

> Equally comfortable analysing programme performance, ensuring governance and safeguarding compliance, supporting funding applications and representing the Foundation publicly.
> Hands-on leader who enjoys working in the community, can inspire others through coaching and partnership working, and is willing to work flexibly around school programmes and rugby fixtures, including evenings and weekends.
