CTRL Room is a new late night events and club venue in Norwich, hosting club nights, drum & bass events, DJs, live entertainment and private events.
We’re looking for a Lighting Technician / Operator to take control of the venue’s lighting during live events and help create the right atmosphere and visual experience for each night.
The role
You’ll be responsible for operating and controlling the venue’s lighting throughout events, working alongside DJs, performers, event managers and our sound/production team.
The role will include:
- Operating lighting during club nights, DJ events and live events
- Programming and running lighting sequences appropriate to different styles of music
- Creating dynamic lighting throughout performances and reacting live to the music
- Setting up and testing lighting before events
- Ensuring equipment is operating correctly and reporting any technical issues
- Working closely with DJs, sound technicians and venue management
Who we’re looking for
Previous experience with nightclub, live-event or stage lighting would be ideal, although we’re also very interested in hearing from students currently studying lighting, live-event production, technical theatre or a similar subject who want practical experience in a busy venue.
You must be reliable, confident around technical equipment and have a genuine interest in lighting and live events.
Flexibility is essential. CTRL Room is a late-night venue, so the majority of shifts will be evenings, nights and weekends, sometimes finishing in the early hours.
We expect approximately 2–4 events per week, with the potential for additional shifts when required.
Pay: £15–£20 per hour depending on experience.
