About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic, responsible and well-organised Teaching Assistant & Student Experience Assistant to support the delivery of our educational programme in Cambridge.
This is a short-term paid role ideal for a current university student, recent graduate, student ambassador, tutor, mentor, or someone living in or near Cambridge who is interested in education, leadership, international student engagement and programme delivery.
The programme welcomes international students aged 15–20 and combines academic learning, cultural exploration, Cambridge campus experiences, social activities and student development. The successful candidate will help create a supportive, engaging and enjoyable learning environment for students from around the world.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will support the Programme Manager and academic team with:
- Assisting teachers during academic sessions, workshops and interactive activities.
- Preparing teaching materials, handouts, classroom resources and student packs.
- Helping set up classrooms, learning materials and basic presentation equipment.
- Supporting student discussions, group work and final presentations.
- Helping organise and lead supervised Cambridge campus and city tours.
- Introducing students to Cambridge student life, academic culture and local landmarks.
- Supporting supervised team-building activities and evening events.
- Assisting students during group movements between venues, accommodation and activity locations.
- Encouraging student participation, confidence, teamwork and respectful behaviour.
- Assisting with attendance records, certificates, name lists and general programme administration.
- Reporting any welfare, safety or safeguarding concerns promptly to the Programme Manager.
About You
We are looking for someone who is friendly, mature, reliable and confident working with young international students. You should be approachable, organised and able to support students in a professional and positive manner.
Essential Requirements
- Current university student, recent graduate, or candidate based in or near Cambridge.
- Excellent spoken English and strong communication skills.
- Good knowledge of Cambridge city and/or university life.
- Professional, reliable and approachable manner.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Comfortable working with students aged 15–20.
- Available during the programme period from 26 July to 7 August 2026.
- Willing to support some evening activities during the programme.
- Right to work in the United Kingdom.
Desirable Experience
- Experience as a student ambassador, teaching assistant, tutor, mentor, activity leader, camp assistant, tour guide or student representative.
- Experience working with young people or international students.
- Interest in education, leadership, business, technology, entrepreneurship, research or international programmes.
- First aid training or safeguarding training.
