Role Description The Legal Secretary role at Dean Vickery Legal Services is primarily a work-from-home position, although living within commuting distance of Cardiff is a must, as there may be times when traveling to the office will be required.
The Legal Secretary will support the solicitor in day-to-day operations, including preparing and formatting legal documents, proof reading, managing case files, and maintaining accurate records. Responsibilities include handling incoming and outgoing correspondence, answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, and managing diaries to accommodate out-of-hours client meetings. The role also involves organising court bundles, assisting with document filing, and ensuring that client information is handled confidentially and professionally. The role also includes billing, so an understanding of Court Portal is important.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Law and experience supporting legal professionals or Legal Assistants.
- Proficiency in Legal Document Preparation, including drafting, formatting, and proofreading legal correspondence and court documents.
- Solid Clerical Skills, including filing, data entry, record management, and handling confidential information with care.
- Effective Diary Management abilities, including scheduling client appointments, court dates, and managing an out-of-hours timetable.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a professional telephone manner and client service focus.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to prioritise multiple tasks.
- Competence in common office software (word processing, spreadsheets, email) and familiarity with legal case management systems is an advantage.
- Previous experience in family law or a legal practice setting is desirable; relevant certification or training in legal administration is beneficial.

Salary is negotiable.
Pay: £25,420.00-£40,890.39 per year
