Job Overview
We are seeking a professional HGV Class 1 Driver trampers to join our team. This role involves operating lorries on long-distance routes, primarily focusing on delivering goods across various locations. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely and safe transportation of airfreight cargo, adhering to all safety regulations and company policies. This position offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers to utilise their driving skills in a dynamic environment, with the flexibility of extended periods away from base.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate HGV Class 1 lorries, including Q7 Roller bed and Q6 trailers on long-haul routes as a tramper.
- Conduct pre-journey safety checks and ensure the vehicle is in optimal condition before departure.
- Deliver goods to designated locations efficiently while maintaining adherence to delivery schedules.
- Ensure all cargo is secured correctly and comply with health and safety regulations during loading and unloading.
- Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including delivery notes and mileage logs.
- Maintain communication with the logistics team regarding route progress and any issues encountered during transit.
- Follow all road safety laws and company policies to promote safe driving practices at all times.
Skills
- Experience with Q7 roller bed trailers
- Strong understanding of driving regulations and safety standards within the UK.
- Delivery driver experience is highly desirable, demonstrating reliability and punctuality.
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving licence for HGV Class 1 (C+E).
- Ability to handle long hours on the road, demonstrating organisational skills and resilience.
- Good communication skills for liaising with clients and team members effectively.
- Organised approach to paperwork and documentation related to deliveries and vehicle maintenance.
Pay: £15.00 per hour
