Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Afterschool Club Coordinator to lead engaging, safe, and enriching activities for children after school hours. In this vital role, you will organize and oversee a variety of educational, recreational, and social programs designed to foster growth, creativity, and positive interactions among children. Your enthusiasm and leadership will create a welcoming environment where kids feel inspired, supported, and excited to participate in their afterschool experience. Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and implement diverse afterschool activities that promote learning, social skills, and fun for children of various ages
- Supervise children during activities ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment that encourages participation and teamwork among children
- Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding children's progress, behaviour, or additional needs.
- Collaborate with staff members to develop new programs that align with educational standards and community interests
- Maintain a clean, organized activity space adhering to health and safety regulations
- Manage administrative tasks such as attendance records, fees and snack provision. As well as the occasional social media updating, and answering calls and text messages.
Requirements
- Proven experience in childcare, teaching, or similar roles/ experiences
- SVQ 4 in Social Services (Children and Young people) and/or SVQ 4 in Playwork - Or possess equivelant qualifications.
- Strong communication skills
- Passion for working with children and creating engaging learning environments
- Demonstrated ability to lead activities that are fun yet educationally meaningful
- Flexibility to work between 3pm and 6pm Monday - Friday
- Relevant certifications such as first aid or child development training are advantageous but not mandatory
Rate of pay starting at £16ph negotiable depending on experience
