At Watkin Jones, we are seeking a Health and Safety Advisor to help foster and embed a positive health and safety culture across all levels of the organisation. This is a key role within the Group, responsible for ensuring ongoing compliance with health and safety legislation while providing expert advice, guidance, and support to employees and managers.
The role involves monitoring, inspecting, and auditing health and safety activities across the business, identifying potential risks, and developing practical solutions to minimise and mitigate them. You will also work closely with regulatory and enforcement bodies, as well as external health and safety organisations, to represent and promote the company's interests. Additionally, you will be responsible for preparing and communicating health and safety updates, alerts, and guidance to relevant stakeholders throughout the business.
About You
With strong time management skills, you will hold a NEBOSH construction certificate and have excellent knowledge of Health and Safety legislation. The ideal candidate will have the ability to act assertively to support a point of view, negotiate, influence decisions whilst maintaining respect and healthy, positive working relationships.
It is essential that you have good knowledge and experience of health and safety legislation and its application within the construction sector, with knowledge of the impending Building Safety Bill and how it will apply to those responsible for managing high risk properties.
You’re a skilled communicator with the ability to communicate verbally and in writing to a diverse range of audiences and IT literate competent in the use of Microsoft Office Applications.
The role does include nationwide travel and staying away as you will be responsible for activities across the UK.
