Overview
Arden House is a 14 bed residential home for the elderly in Pickering. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Night Care Assistant to join our friendly team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing personalised care and support to individuals within Arden House. This position offers an opportunity to make a positive difference in people's lives by assisting with daily activities, promoting independence, and ensuring well-being. The Night Care Assistant will be responsible for fostering a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for residents.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with daily living tasks such as personal care, mobility, and medication management
- Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, promoting their mental and emotional well-being
- Maintain accurate records of care provided, observations, and any changes in client condition
- Ensure the safety and comfort of clients at all times, adhering to health and safety regulations
- Following infection control policies and procedures.
- Night checks overnight
- Assisting with continence needs
Experience
- Previous experience working within a care home is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
- Knowledge of care plans and ability to follow them accurately
- Good communication skills in English, with the ability to effectively engage with clients and team members
- Basic IT literacy for record keeping and communication purposes
- Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and empathy are essential for building trusting relationships with residents.
The position we have available is for 10 hours a week on a Friday night 9pm - 7am. Flexibility is also required to cover other shifts for holiday, and sickness.
Job Type: Permanent
Pay: Up to £13.50 per hour
