Who we are
We’re IAG Loyalty – one organisation with two ambitious, growing divisions across Loyalty and Holidays. Each has its own goals, strategy and team, but together we’re united by a shared vision to create a more rewarding world of travel and experiences.
Our Loyalty division is home to Avios, the global loyalty currency, enabling millions of members to collect and spend rewards across travel, retail and financial services.
Our Holidays division, including British Airways Holidays and Iberia Vacaciones, connects customers to thousands of destinations worldwide through seamless travel experiences.
We're on an exciting journey of growth and transformation – and we'd love you to be part of it.
✨ The opportunity
We're looking for a Buyer to join our team and help shape a commercially successful product range that delivers value for both our customers and the business.
This role sits within the Avios Reward Shop, where members can spend their Avios on a wide range of products. You can find out more here: https://www.avios.com/en-GB/avios-shop
You'll take ownership of a portfolio of categories, including technology, travel accessories, luggage and lifestyle products, sourcing new products, building strong supplier partnerships and driving commercial performance through effective buying, pricing and range management.
Working closely with Merchandising, Marketing and Operations, you'll continually optimise the product range, respond to customer and market trends, and identify new opportunities to grow the business.
If you're commercially minded, enjoy building relationships and thrive in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same, we'd love to hear from you.
What you'll be doing
Owning the commercial performance of your product categories, delivering against revenue, margin and profitability targets.
Sourcing new products and suppliers to build a competitive, customer-focused product range.
Negotiating commercial terms, pricing, lead times and supplier agreements to deliver the best outcomes for the business.
Building strong, long-term supplier relationships and driving ongoing performance through regular reviews.
Working closely with Merchandising to optimise product ranges, identify new opportunities and respond to customer and market trends.
Planning seasonal and tactical promotions alongside Merchandising and Marketing.
Managing category performance through competitor analysis, sales data and customer insight.
Overseeing the end-to-end buying process, ensuring critical path milestones are delivered on time and products launch successfully.
Identifying opportunities to improve profitability through sourcing strategies, supplier negotiations and range optimisation.
Coaching and supporting a Buying Administrator, ensuring high-quality delivery across category administration and supplier processes.
- What we need from you
Experience in Buying, Category Management, Product Sourcing or Commercial Trading, ideally within technology, consumer electronics, travel accessories, lifestyle products or other customer-focused retail categories.
Experience managing commercial performance, with accountability for revenue, margin and business outcomes.
Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
Experience analysing customer, market and competitor insights to inform commercial decisions.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver against deadlines.
A collaborative approach, with experience working cross-functionally across Buying, Merchandising, Marketing and Operations.
Confidence using buying systems and the ability to quickly learn new tools and technologies.
Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and build trusted relationships.
Experience coaching or developing junior team members would be advantageous.
Experience with SAP or Ariba would be beneficial but isn't essential.
We might not be right for you if…
You prefer working independently rather than collaborating across teams.
You enjoy maintaining the status quo rather than continuously looking for ways to improve.
You're looking for a role focused solely on execution rather than taking ownership and driving commercial outcomes.
If you think you have what it takes but don't meet every single requirement, we'd still love to hear from you.
The Blend
This role is part of our Loyalty Division and is based in our London office. We call our approach to hybrid working The Blend—giving you the flexibility to do your best work while staying connected with your team and the wider business.
You'll typically spend at least two days a week in the office, with the flexibility to work remotely for the rest of the week.
Diversity and Inclusion
Our vision is to create a more rewarding world of travel and experiences. Delivering that requires diverse thinking and inclusive leadership.
We are committed to building a workplace where people feel they belong and are valued for their perspective. Inclusion drives better decisions, stronger performance and more innovative outcomes.
We actively encourage applications from people with different experiences and backgrounds, and are committed to ensuring our recruitment process is fair, inclusive and accessible.
