Our clinic seeks an experienced, hard-working Head Nurse to join our team. The role would be to provide excellent clinical assistance to our Clinicians and to lead the nursing team.
The role needs a pro-active applicant with excellent organisational skills. They need to be able to communicate with all different departments within the clinic and also be able to run an effective, efficient and smooth-running nursing department.
The successful applicant will be confident in all areas of dental treatments when needed, may it be Implants, Orthodontic, Restorative or Cosmetic.
Experience of Dentally Software is essential.
Responsibilities and required skills:
- Supporting the efficient and accurate delivery of clinical patient care including providing friendly and empathic patient care.
- To lead and manage the nursing, department, ensuring that procedures drive efficiency.
- Liaise with the Practice Managers and Business Operations Manager to devise, implement and monitor clinical operations procedure planning on the surgery floors in terms of nursing support.
- Carry out stock control and placing orders.
- To plan and lead daily briefings with nursing staff.
- Ensure that the clinics run smoothly and any issues are addressed.
- Ensure that the nursing rota is effectively and efficiently managed with appropriate deployment of staff.
- Ensure that all the equipment service is up to date.
- Make sure any breakdowns or malfunctions of the equipment are dealt with effectively and efficiently.
- Training, coaching, and supervising new staff on clinical duties and existing staff on new/changed/ongoing clinical nursing practices.
- Serving as a Dental Nurse for all and any Clinicians.
- Preparing the surgeries and for treatments.
- Recording accurate charting information when required in the patients’ confidential records.
- Liaising with dental laboratories, suppliers and other organisations as required.
- Maintaining accurate records of lab work in and out.
- Communication with patients when required.
- Performing decontamination tasks to the required standards by following protocols.
- Maintaining stock levels in surgeries of all clinical materials and supplies.
- Taking 3D intraoral scans/digital impressions using, iTero and any other related imaging in the future.
- Taking X-rays.
- Completing the Autoclave, Ultrasonic & Washer Disinfector record books daily.
- Completing Surgery checklists daily.
HOURS:-
Monday - Friday - 09:00- 18:00
Remuneration:-
£16 - £20/hr
