Overview
We are seeking experienced and reliable joiners to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for constructing, installing and repairing structures made of various materials. This role requires a strong understanding of carpentry techniques, mechanical knowledge and the ability to work safely in various environments. The Joiner will contribute to a range of projects including domestic and commercial jobs, ensuring high standards of craftsmanship and safety in Edinburgh and East Lothian.
Responsibilities
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings, plans and specifications to determine project requirements.
- Cutting, shaping and assembling materials using hand tools, power tools and specialised equipment.
- Installing structures such as frameworks, partitions, roofing components and fixtures on-site.
- Performing repairs and maintenance on existing structures with high standard of workmanship and attention to detail.
- Assisting with heavy lifting tasks safety regulations and organisational standards.
- Collaborating with other trades people to complete projects efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organised environment to promote safety and productivity.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Requirements
- Proven experience in carpentry or joinery work within construction or renovation projects.
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as chisels, saws, hammers, as well as power tools including drills and saws.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work at heights when required.
- Strong organisational skills with an eye for detail to ensure quality workmanship.
- Physical fitness to undertake demanding tasks over extended periods in various weather conditions.
- Valid driving license and transport.
- Own tools.
- Valid right to work in the UK.
Pay: £18.00-£25.00 per hour
