Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organised Medical Secretary to join our busy general practice team. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated person to play a vital role in supporting the smooth running of our practice and ensuring high quality patient care. The ideal candidate will provide Secretarial support to medical staff and management team ensuring efficient operation within the practice.
Responsibilities
- Maintain patient records and update information in electronic databases
- Handle telephone enquiries and patient communications professionally
- Typing of clinical letters, reports and medical correspondence
- Process referrals, and clinical documentation
- Process medical billing and insurance claims
- Prepare and organise medical reports and correspondence
-Other Administrative duties may be required with full training given.
Skills
- Proven experience as a Medical Secretary or in a similar healthcare administrative role, with an empathetic approach to patient care
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure
- Strong IT skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, excellent typing skills with a high level of accuracy and speed,
- Familiarity with medical terminology is advantageous

- SystmOne Experience
- Knowledge of NHS Systems and procedures
- Experience working in General Practice
