Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Café Supervisor to lead our team and ensure an exceptional customer experience. In this role, you will help to oversee daily operations, supervise staff, and maintain high standards of food quality, safety, and hospitality.
Duties
- Leading the team during shifts and making sure everyone knows what they’re responsible for.
- Consistently delivering excellent customer service and helping create a welcoming atmosphere.
- Supporting, motivating and coaching team members throughout the day.
- Helping with food preparation, plating and service.
- Ensuring kitchen cleanliness, food hygiene and food safety procedures are maintained.
- Opening and closing the shop and completing all relevant checks and procedures.
- Handling cash, tills and end-of-day procedures accurately.
- Making sure food, drinks and products are prepared and presented to a high standard.
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, organisation and food hygiene.
- Monitoring stock levels and helping with deliveries, stock rotation and waste control.
- Dealing confidently and professionally with customer queries or complaints.
- Helping ensure company policies, health & safety procedures and food safety standards are followed.
- Supporting the management team with training new members of staff.
- Delegating tasks and managing priorities during busy periods.
- Communicating any issues, maintenance requirements or operational concerns to management.
- Helping create a positive, supportive and enjoyable working environment.
We’d love to hear from someone who:
- Has previous experience working in hospitality, cafés, restaurants or a similar customer-facing environment.
- Has some previous supervisory or team-leading experience.
- Is confident taking charge of a shift and making decisions when required.
- Is organised, reliable and able to manage several priorities at once.
- Has a positive attitude and leads by example.
- Enjoys working as part of a team and helping others develop.
- Has excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Can remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment.
- Is flexible and happy to work a mixture of weekdays and weekends.
Previous supervisory experience is preferred, but we’re also happy to hear from experienced team members who feel ready to take the next step into a leadership role.
This is a hands-on and varied position, and you’ll be expected to work across both front-of-house and kitchen operations. You’ll work alongside the team during service, helping wherever needed, whether that’s serving customers, preparing food, making drinks, supporting the kitchen or leading the shift.
You’ll play an important part in making sure the shop runs efficiently, customers leave happy and the team has the support they need to deliver a consistently high standard.
Part-time and full-time positions available.
Pay: £13.10 per hour
