NC Associates are working with a successful and growing organisation based in Manchester to recruit an experienced Accounts Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity for an immediately available finance professional to join a busy and supportive team within a growing business.
The successful candidate will support the day-to-day running of the finance function and gain exposure across a broad range of transactional accounting duties. This role would suit an Accounts Assistant who enjoys variety, has excellent attention to detail and is looking for a long-term opportunity with genuine career progression.
Processing purchase and sales ledger invoices

Matching, coding and posting supplier invoices
-
Allocating incoming customer payments
-
Preparing and processing supplier payment runs
-
Completing bank reconciliations
-
Reconciling supplier and customer accounts
-
Assisting with credit control and chasing outstanding invoices
-
Investigating and resolving invoice and payment queries
-
Processing employee expenses and staff payments
-
Maintaining accurate financial records and documentation
-
Assisting with month-end reconciliations and reporting
-
Supporting the wider finance team with ad-hoc duties and projects
To be successful in your application, you must have the following:
-
Previous experience within an Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant or similar position
-
Experience across Purchase Ledger and/or Sales Ledger
-
Strong understanding of transactional finance processes
-
Experience with bank or account reconciliations
-
Good Microsoft Excel skills
-
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
-
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities

Excellent communication skills
-
A proactive and positive approach to work

Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

Immediate availability or availability at short notice
Desirable:
-
AAT qualification or currently studying towards AAT
-
Experience using Sage, Xero, Microsoft Dynamics or similar accounting systems

Experience assisting with month-end processes
-
Previous experience within a fast-paced or high-volume finance environment
