About Us
GM Dental Laboratory is one of the UK's fastest-growing digital dental laboratories, specialising in full-arch implant rehabilitation, digital dentistry and advanced implant prosthetics.
We are investing heavily in digital workflows, photogrammetry, CAD/CAM technology and quality control systems. We are looking for an exceptional Digital Implant Technician to lead our full-arch department and help build one of the highest-quality implant laboratories in the UK.
This is not a standard CAD/CAM role. You will take ownership of our entire digital full-arch workflow, improve quality, reduce remakes and work directly with clinicians to deliver outstanding patient outcomes.
The Role
You will lead all technical aspects of implant-supported full-arch production, ensuring every restoration meets the highest standards of fit, function and aesthetics.
You will be responsible for: leading the digital implant department; designing complex implant restorations using Exocad; designing All-on-4 and All-on-X restorations; designing monolithic zirconia restorations; designing PMMA provisional bridges; designing titanium bar-supported restorations; reviewing every complex implant case before production; working alongside clinicians and surgeons; managing digital workflows from scan to delivery; supporting photogrammetry workflows; managing CAD/CAM production; supporting milling and CAM strategies; supporting furnace and sintering protocols; developing quality control systems; investigating remake cases; producing root cause analyses; creating SOPs; training junior technicians; improving laboratory efficiency; reducing turnaround times; and supporting research and development of new workflows.
Essential Experience
Applicants should have extensive experience in: Exocad, implant-supported restorations, full-arch rehabilitation, digital dentistry, CAD/CAM workflows, multi-unit abutments, photogrammetry workflows, PMMA restorations, monolithic zirconia, titanium bar restorations, screw-retained restorations, implant libraries, digital smile design, quality control, and implant prosthetics.
Desirable Experience
Experience with: iCam, iMetric, PIC Dental, 3Shape, Meshmixer, Blender for Dental, Exoplan, CoDiagnostiX, 3D printing, SprintRay, Asiga, HyperDent, MillBox, zirconia sintering, and implant planning software.
Leadership Responsibilities
You will: lead the digital department; mentor junior technicians; improve workflow efficiency; build quality systems; develop KPIs; introduce new technologies; work closely with clinicians and surgeons; and maintain the highest production standards.
Quality Responsibilities
You will own: passive fit rates; Sheffield test success; one-screw test success; framework quality; remake reduction; chairside adjustment reduction; digital workflow optimisation; technician training; quality documentation; and continuous improvement.
Key Performance Indicators
Success in this role will be measured by: first-time passive fit of 98% or higher; framework remake rate below 2%; ceramic remake rate below 2%; average turnaround under 10 working days; clinician satisfaction above 9.5 out of 10; 100% QC documentation; reduction in chairside adjustments; improved production efficiency; and successful implementation of new workflows.
What We Offer
£55,000–£70,000 salary (depending on experience); performance-related annual bonus; modern digital laboratory; state-of-the-art CAD/CAM equipment; work on complex implant cases every day; direct collaboration with experienced implant surgeons; opportunities to attend advanced implant and digital dentistry courses; pension scheme; paid annual leave; and career progression into Laboratory Director or Head of Digital Dentistry.
The Ideal Candidate
You are an experienced digital implant technician who enjoys solving complex technical challenges rather than simply producing cases. You have a deep understanding of full-arch workflows and are passionate about precision, quality and continuous improvement. You can identify the root cause of fit issues, improve systems and mentor others to achieve consistently excellent results.
