We are seeking skilled and dedicated Tanker Drivers to join our team working for our prestigious client, United Utilities. The ideal candidates will possess a strong background in commercial driving, particularly with tanker vehicles. This role involves transporting liquid sludge via road between United Utilities sites safely and efficiently, ensuring compliance with all regulations and company policies. As a Tanker Driver, you will play a crucial role in our logistics operations, contributing to the timely delivery of essential materials.
The work involves driving an articulated HGV Class 1 vehicle and the operation of a vacuum Tanker. Full induction and training will be given to the right candidate. Normal working patterns are days. Flexibility between local sites will be required as part of this role, with locations such as Crewe, Winsford, Birkenhead, Northwich, Runcorn and Ellesmere Port.
Shift patterns are Monday-Friday with potential for overtime at the weekend.
You will have paid holidays and paid breaks with the below pay rates:
Days - £16.05ph
Nights - £19.05
Saturday - £24.08
Sunday - £33.09
Bank holidays - £48.14
Duties:
- Operate tanker vehicles to transport liquid cargo to designated locations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered on the road.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the tanker vehicle.
Requirements:
- HGV Class 1 Licence with less than 6 penalty points
- Full driver's CPC card
- Digital Tachograph card is essential
- Previous Tanker Experience is advantageous but not essential (Vacuum Tanker Training will be given )
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients and colleagues.
