Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of breakfast items with efficiency and attention to detail
- Follow standardized recipes and presentation guidelines to ensure consistency and quality
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety standards at all times
- Assist in meal preparation for special dietary needs or menu variations as required
- Ensure all food is stored properly, rotating stock to minimize waste
- Support team members during busy periods by providing timely and friendly service
- Participate in cleaning schedules, including sanitizing workstations and equipment after each shift
- Assist the head chef with preparation for evening service, including food preparation, portioning, chopping, sauces etc
- Complete daily preparation lists and ensure all required ingridients are available and ready for evening service.
- Assist with stock rotation, deliveries and kitchen orginisation to ensure the team is prepared for upcoming service.
- Carry out and record daily temperature checks, cleaning checks, and other food safety documentation
- Ensure any issues identified during checks are reported promptly to the head chef or management.
Experience
- Proven experience in food preparation or cooking within a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Knowledge of culinary techniques specific to breakfast dishes such as eggs, breakfast meats, and sides
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in a commercial kitchen environment
- Previous kitchen experience that demonstrates efficiency, organization, and teamwork skills
- Ability to serve guests promptly while maintaining high standards of quality and presentation
A level 2 food safety & hygiene certificate is preferred, although applicants without this qualification will also be considered for the job.
Pay: £12.71 per hour
