Cleaning Operative
Location: Lancaster
Hours: 17.5–20 hours per week on a fortnightly rota

IWS Recruit are currently recruiting for 2 Temp to Perm Part-Time Cleaners to join a busy team at a popular tourist attraction in Lancaster.
We are looking for reliable, experienced cleaners who take pride in their work and have excellent attention to detail. You will play an important role in ensuring the client's facilities are maintained to a consistently high standard and provide a clean, welcoming environment for customers and visitors.
The Role
As a Cleaner, your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out general cleaning duties including dusting, vacuuming and mopping
- Ensuring all areas are maintained to a very high standard of cleanliness
- Working independently and managing your time effectively
- Following cleaning schedules and completing tasks within the required timeframe
- Following all health and safety procedures
- Using cleaning products and equipment safely and correctly
- Maintaining high standards of customer service and professionalism
- Reporting any issues or concerns to the appropriate member of the team
Working Hours
This role operates on a fortnightly rota, with every other weekend required.
Week 1 – 17.5 hours
Monday: 10:00am–1:30pm & 2:30pm–6:30pm – 7.5 hours
Tuesday: 4:00pm–6:00pm – 2 hours
Thursday: 2:30pm–6:30pm – 4 hours
Friday: 2:30pm–6:30pm – 4 hours
Week 2 – 20 hours
Thursday: 4:00pm–6:00pm – 2 hours
Friday: 2:00pm–4:00pm & 4:00pm–6:00pm – 4 hours
Saturday: 10:00am–1:30pm & 2:30pm–6:00pm – 7 hours
Sunday: 10:00am–1:30pm & 2:30pm–6:00pm – 7 hours
You will therefore work every other weekend, with one week totalling 17.5 hours and the following week totalling 20 hours.
You will also be required to work Bank Holidays, as the role is based at a popular tourist attraction.
About You
Previous cleaning experience is essential for this role.
We're looking for candidates who:
- Have previous professional cleaning experience
- Have excellent attention to detail and take pride in their work
- Have strong timekeeping and time-management skills
- Can work independently and manage their workload effectively
- Have good communication skills in English
- Have a strong customer service focus
- Are reliable, professional and hardworking
- Have knowledge of COSHH and the safe use of cleaning chemicals
- Are comfortable working weekends and Bank Holidays as part of the rota
Requirements
- Applicants must be local to the Lancaster area
- Previous cleaning experience is essential
- COSHH knowledge is essential
- Strong communication skills in English
- Enhanced DBS check required
- Availability to work every other weekend
- Availability to work Bank Holidays
- 2 full days of training must be completed
- This is a permanent position and applicants must be able to commit to the full rota
