As a Relief Security Officer, you'll provide support across multiple DWP sites within the region, helping to maintain a safe, secure and welcoming environment for staff and visitors.
This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same. Flexibility and reliability are essential, as you'll be covering sites across different locations when needed.
- Previous security experience
- Valid SIA Licence (Door Supervisor Licence preferred)
- Valid Full UK driving licence
- Access to your own vehicle is essential
- Flexible and reliable approach to travelling across multiple sites
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
- Good attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Maintaining a safe and secure environment for DWP staff, visitors and property
- Conducting regular patrols and identifying potential risks or security threats
- Responding professionally to incidents, emergencies and suspicious activity
- Supporting staff and visitors with any security-related matters
- Completing detailed incident reports and maintaining accurate records
- Liaising with emergency services and external agencies when required
- Carrying out routine security checks and ensuring site procedures are followed
- Remaining alert and proactive to prevent disruption, loss or damage
- Reporting any Health & Safety hazards or concerns immediately
- Staying vigilant and responding appropriately to changes within the environment
- Using initiative and remaining professional during challenging situations
- Maintaining high standards of conduct and customer service at all times
- Following Mitie and DWP policies, procedures and regulations
- Contacting emergency services and the Communication Centre when required
