Role Overview
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, preparing, and delivering effective teaching sessions for adult learners within the private security industry. The role involves delivering engaging lessons, supporting learners throughout their qualification journey, assessing learner progress, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring all training is delivered in line with awarding body, regulatory, and organisational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
As an Adult Education Tutor / SIA Trainer, your duties will include:
- Planning, preparing, and delivering structured training sessions for adult learners.
- Delivering SIA-related security training in a professional, engaging, and compliant manner.
- Supporting learners with different learning needs, abilities, and backgrounds.
- Assessing learner knowledge, skills, and competence using approved assessment methods.
- Providing constructive feedback to learners to support their progress and achievement.
- Maintaining accurate learner records, attendance records, assessment paperwork, and course documentation.
- Ensuring all teaching and assessment activities meet awarding body and regulatory requirements.
- Promoting a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
- Monitoring learner progress and identifying learners who may require additional support.
- Working with the internal quality assurance team to maintain high standards of training and assessment.
- Contributing to standardisation activities, course development, and continuous improvement.
- Ensuring all training delivery reflects current industry standards, compliance requirements, and best practice.
- Supporting the centre with course preparation, learner communication, and training administration where required.
Essential Requirements
The ideal candidate should have:
- Experience delivering adult education or vocational training.
- Strong knowledge of the private security industry and SIA training requirements.
- A recognised teaching or training qualification, such as Level 3 Award in Education and Training or equivalent.
- Relevant qualifications and occupational competence for delivering SIA-related courses.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and classroom management skills.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to support learners from diverse backgrounds.
- A professional attitude and commitment to high-quality training delivery.
- Good IT and record-keeping skills.
Desirable Requirements
- Previous experience working with an approved training centre.
- Experience with awarding body compliance, assessment paperwork, and learner portfolios.
- Knowledge of internal quality assurance processes.
- Experience delivering Door Supervisor, CCTV, Conflict Management, Physical Intervention, or related security qualifications.
