The Role
Responsible for the end-to-end delivery of data centre build, expansion, relocation, and infrastructure deployment projects, with a primary focus on server, network, and critical IT infrastructure environments. The role combines traditional project management with technical infrastructure delivery, ensuring that facilities, network infrastructure, server platforms, structured cabling, and supporting technologies are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to agreed technical and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee construction activities across mechanical, electrical and IT infrastructure workstreams.
- Manage physical and virtual server deployments, rack design, power and cooling validation, infrastructure refresh programmes, migrations and resilience initiatives.
- Coordinate deployment of network infrastructure including switching, routing, firewalls, wireless networks, structured cabling and connectivity services whilst ensuring resilience and security standards.
- Manage data centre design, build and expansion projects, ensuring compliance with technical, operational, health and safety, and customer requirements.
- Skills & Experience
- Minimum 5+ years managing infrastructure and data centre projects with a proven track record delivering server and network deployments in mission-critical environments.
- Knowledge of Azure, AWS, networking, virtualisation, storage, backup and disaster recovery technologies.
- Experience managing contractors, suppliers, budgets and enterprise stakeholders.
- Experience delivering projects including VMware, Hyper-V, enterprise storage, backup and disaster recovery, structured cabling, PDUs, UPS systems, generators, LAN, WAN, MPLS, SD-WAN, Cisco, Aruba, Juniper, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Azure, Microsoft 365 and hybrid cloud platforms.

The Successful Candidate
The successful candidate will be comfortable working in active data centre and customer environments, providing hands-on oversight of infrastructure deployments, contractor activities, commissioning, testing, and handover. Regular attendance at customer, construction, and data centre sites is required, making this role unsuitable for primarily remote working arrangements.
Additional Requirements
Due to the nature of our clients, successful applicants must be able to pass a BPSS background check and hold a full UK driving licence.
