Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated Electrical Improver to join our growing team on a self-employed basis.
The role involves assisting with the installation, maintenance, and testing of electrical and renewable energy systems across residential and commercial projects, including solar PV, battery storage, and EV charging installations.
Previous solar experience is beneficial but not essential, as full training will be provided for the right candidate.
Working away may occasionally be required. Accommodation will be provided, with additional pay/bonus to be discussed.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with the installation and maintenance of solar PV systems
- Assisting with electrical installation works in residential and commercial properties
- Supporting the installation of renewable technologies including solar PV, battery storage systems, and EV chargers
- Assisting with fault finding, testing, and commissioning of electrical installations
- Carrying out containment, cable installation, termination, and equipment mounting
- Repairing or replacing wiring, equipment, and accessories using hand and power tools
- Ensuring all work is completed safely and in accordance with BS 7671 and company procedures
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised work environment
Requirements / Qualifications
- ECS Electrical Labourer or ECS Electrical Improver Card (preferred)
- NVQ Level 2 or working towards NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
- Previous experience in domestic or commercial electrical installation
- Renewable energy experience is advantageous but not essential
- Good practical skills and willingness to learn
- Ability to follow technical drawings and instructions
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Own transport and a full UK driving licence preferred
- Physically fit and comfortable working at height and in a variety of environments
Certificates will be required and verified prior to commencement of works.

Pay: £150.00-£200.00 per day
