Overview
We are seeking a skilled Painter and Decorator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for applying paint, wallpaper, and other finishes to a variety of surfaces, ensuring high standards of quality and professionalism. Duties
- Preparing surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and priming prior to painting or decorating
- Applying paints, varnishes, wallpapers, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment
- Ensuring all work is completed to specified standards and within designated timeframes
- Mixing and matching colours accurately to meet client specifications
- Protecting surrounding areas by covering floors and furniture during work
- Maintaining tools and equipment in good condition through regular cleaning and servicing
- Communicating effectively with clients and team members regarding project progress and requirements
- Adhering to health and safety regulations at all times during the execution of duties
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction painting and decorating or similar roles
- Knowledge of various painting techniques and materials
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings or specifications in English
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and colleagues
- Valid driving licence is desirable for transportation between sites
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently
- A keen eye for detail and colour accuracy
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
