Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Carpenter/Builder to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for executing a wide range of building projects, from framing and finishing to detailed joinery and fabrication. Your expertise will help bring architectural visions to life, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and adherence to safety standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on our many diverse holiday let projects, including re-construction of a rural pub/restaurant based in St Harmon Rhayader.
Duties
- Measure, cut, assemble, and install building materials with precision using hand tools and power tools.
- Perform carpentry tasks including framing, roofing, flooring, cabinetry, and finish carpentry.
- Fabricate custom components and joinery pieces to specifications for various construction projects.
- Conduct masonry work such as bricklaying or stonework when required for structural or aesthetic purposes.
- Assist with plumbing and electrical installations as needed, ensuring compliance with safety codes.
- Carry out construction painting, surface finishing, and touch-ups to achieve a polished look.
- Engage in heavy lifting and physical tasks necessary for the assembly of large structures or materials.
- Follow safety protocols diligently while working at heights or on scaffolding during roofing or other elevated work.
Experience
- Proven experience in carpentry, construction, or building trades with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
- Familiarity with fabrication techniques, assembly processes, and joinery methods.
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as saws, chisels, hammers, and measuring devices.
- Skilled in operating power tools including drills, saws, sanders, and grinders safely and effectively.
- Knowledge of roofing techniques and heavy lifting procedures for large or heavy materials.
- Basic understanding of plumbing systems, masonry work, electrical wiring, and construction painting is highly desirable.
- Ability to read blueprints or technical drawings accurately and interpret project specifications.
