WillisPalmer is looking for experienced, reliable Family Support Workers to join our growing network of independent professionals.

The Role
As a Family Support Worker, you will work directly with families experiencing a range of parenting challenges, from caring for newborns through to supporting families with teenagers.
You may work with families where children are subject to Child in Need, Child Protection or Care Proceedings, so a strong understanding of safeguarding and child welfare is essential.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Providing practical parenting support and guidance
- Promoting safe and appropriate care of children
- Helping parents develop their parenting skills and confidence
- Supporting positive family relationships
- Maintaining a strong focus on children's safety and wellbeing
- Following safeguarding and child protection procedures
- Working independently within families' homes
- Producing clear, factual and professional reports using Microsoft Word
- Communicating effectively with parents, professionals and the WillisPalmer team
Assignments can include both day and night shifts and may last up to 12 hours.

About You
We are looking for experienced professionals who can work confidently and safely on their own.
You should have:
- Level 3 Health & Social Care qualification or equivalent/higher
- At least 12 months' experience working with parents whose children are known to Children's Social Care
- Experience working within child protection and safeguarding processes
- A strong understanding of children's welfare and safeguarding
- The ability to work independently and use professional judgement
- Excellent reliability, punctuality and communication skills
- Experience writing factual, formal reports using Microsoft Word

This is a self-employed, assignment-based opportunity, not an employed position. You must be able to operate as a sole trader or limited company and hold the relevant insurance.
