Hourly Rate: £17.63 per hour + opportunity to earn additional merit of up to £4.73 per hour

Working hours: Mon – Thurs 07.45 – 16.30, Fri 07.45 – 15.30
We are seeking an Chargehand to join our fit out team in based in Sherburn in Elmet.
As a Chargehand you will supervise operatives and provide hands on support to ensure fitting out, refurbishment, installation, dismantling and maintenance activities are completed safely, to the required quality standards and within agreed timescales and budgets.
Supervise operatives to ensure compliance with legislation, regulations, standards, policies and procedures.- Provide hands-on support and guidance to the team ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to specification.
- Plan and allocate daily resource (employees and subcontractors) to meet programme and budget requirements, escalating resourcing issues to the Service Supervisor or Service Manager.
- Check building allocation paperwork (drawings, specifications, paperwork) to ensure fitout work meets agreed requirements.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date SAP records, including building stock control, stock checks and building status.
- Ensure tool allocation and control is managed correctly and in line with process.
- Promote environmental standards, ensuring correct segregation of waste and responsible use of resources.
- Attend operations review and planning meetings, providing input on progress, challenges and resource needs.
- Support the development of customer relationships through effective communication and service delivery.
- Assist in general fitting out and refurbishment activities, working alongside operatives where required.
- Support managers with people processes and contribute to building a safe, motivated and high-performing team.

We are looking for someone who has:
- SMSTS – Site Management Safety Training Scheme (or equivalent) qualification.
- First aid at work certificate.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Practical operational experience ideally in construction, modular buildings or related environments.
- Working knowledge of health and safety practices, with experience of applying RAMS and safe working on site or in yard operations.
- General IT and record-keeping skills, including the use of systems such as SAP and MS Office (e.g. Excel) to update records and report progress.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, able to provide clear instructions and build effective relationships.
