The Role
As a Class 1 HGV Driver, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the safe and timely transportation of goods across the UK while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and road safety.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Safely operating Class 1 (C+E) HGV vehicles in accordance with all DVSA regulations and company procedures.
- Completing one collection and one delivery per shift.
- Planning delivery routes to ensure timely collections and deliveries.
- Carrying out daily vehicle inspections and reporting any defects.
- Completing all transport documentation accurately.
- Maintaining regular communication with the transport and logistics team.
- Ensuring all goods are transported safely and securely.
- Representing the client professionally at all delivery and collection points.
- Adhering to Drivers' Hours regulations, Working Time Directive and Tachograph legislation.
- Assisting with loading or unloading only if operationally required.
What We're Looking For
To be successful in this role, you'll have:
- A valid Class 1 (C+E) Driving Licence.
- A valid Driver CPC Qualification Card.
- A valid Digital Tachograph Card.
- Previous commercial HGV driving experience.
- A good understanding of Drivers' Hours and Road Transport legislation.
- Excellent driving skills and a strong commitment to safety.
- Good organisational and communication skills.
- A reliable, professional and flexible approach to work.
- Experience with flatbed vehicles would be advantageous but is not essential.
