Events & Duty Manager (Full-Time) | Hampshire
Salary: £29,000–£32,000 (dependent on experience)

Basingstoke Golf Club is seeking an experienced Events & Duty Manager to lead delivery of outstanding events, oversee front-of-house operations and actively build the venue’s events business. You’ll ensure every member and guest enjoys seamless, professionally run functions while driving sales, enquiries and repeat custom.
What You’ll Do
- Lead planning and delivery of events, functions and private hires from enquiry to post-event follow-up
- Act as main client contact on the day, managing expectations and delivering excellent service
- Proactively generate and convert event enquiries; develop and execute initiatives to grow bookings and revenue
- Build relationships with local businesses, suppliers and partners to increase sales and referrals
- Coordinate suppliers, contractors and internal teams for set-up, service and breakdown
- Operate and oversee the bar and front-of-house during shifts; supervise staff, rotas and duties
- Manage stock, cellar operations, cash handling and event invoicing/billing
- Take operational responsibility when the House Manager is off-site
- Ensure compliance with licensing, health & safety, food safety and venue policies
- Support development of event packages, upsells, pricing strategies and continuous improvement of guest experience
- Monitor event performance and report on targets, KPIs and opportunities for growth
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience managing events, functions or similar customer-facing hospitality roles.
- Proven track record or clear aptitude for growing event sales and building business
- Strong leadership and people-management skills; confident supervising and motivating teams
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail under pressure
- Customer-focused, professional and calm, with excellent verbal communication skills
- Competent with stock control, cash procedures and basic event budgeting
- Flexible to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays
