Your new role:
As a Goods In Operative, you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient receipt, inspection, and storage of incoming deliveries. Working as part of the warehouse team, you will be responsible for unloading consignments, checking goods against documentation, and ensuring products are accurately booked into stock.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in accuracy, and is committed to maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and housekeeping.
Key Responsibilities:
· Unload deliveries and check consignments against transport documentation for accuracy and condition.
· Verify incoming goods against goods inwards advice paperwork and arrange appropriate storage locations.
· Carry out product inspections to ensure items meet required specifications and quality standards.
· Identify, record, and report any product discrepancies or non-conformances.
· Raise and process discrepancy documentation where required.
· Ensure packaging is suitable for storage and refer any issues to the appropriate team.
· Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area, including responsibility for workstation equipment and housekeeping duties.
· Follow warehouse processes, work instructions, and health and safety procedures at all times.
· Work closely with supervisors and colleagues to support the smooth flow of goods through the warehouse.
· Contribute to achieving departmental KPIs and service targets.
What you’ll need to succeed:
· Previous warehouse or goods-in experience is desirable.
· Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
· Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
· Level 2 literacy and numeracy skills.
· Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage changing priorities.
· Awareness of health and safety requirements within a warehouse environment.
· Knowledge of warehouse management systems, such as SAP, would be beneficial.
· Confidence in learning and using new IT systems and software.
· Commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy, safety, and quality.

This is a full-time, fixed term position. Core hours of work are 7:00am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday.
