Role Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Management Accountant to join our Account's team. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, the successful candidate will work closely with the accounts team, supporting the smooth and effective day-to-day operation of the function.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate monthly management accounts, including profit and loss statements and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Perform variance analysis, comparing actual financial results against budgets and forecasts, and provide clear explanations for significant variances.
- Review, prepare and submit VAT returns, ensuring compliance with relevant requirements and deadlines.
- Prepare comprehensive month-end financial reports for management teams.
- Monitor and evaluate existing financial systems and processes, identifying opportunities for improvement and recommending appropriate enhancements.
- Produce ad hoc financial reports, analysis and data to support business decision-making and management requirements.
- Review and authorise employee expense claims, ensuring they comply with company policies and procedures.
- Assist with the management and oversight of the transactional finance team, providing guidance and support as required.
- Assist with and oversee the accounts department's day-to-day functions, ensuring tasks are completed accurately, efficiently and within agreed deadlines.
- Maintain a high level of professional knowledge by attending relevant training courses and professional development activities.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as required by the Finance Director.
Person Specification
The successful candidate will ideally have the following qualifications, skills and attributes:
Qualifications & Experience
- Part-qualified or fully qualified ACCA or CIMA.
- Experience of preparing and reconciling complex accounts, with excellent attention to detail.
- Previous experience using Sage 50 Accounting Software would be advantageous.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel, with excellent Excel skills.

Hours
37.5 hours per week, Mon-Fri.
08:30am-17:00pm.
1 hour unpaid lunch break, each day.
Salary
£35,000 - £45,000 depending on qualifications and experience.
Pay: £35,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
