About the Role
We are recruiting a reliable and safety-conscious HGV Class 2 Hookloader Driver to support local authority operations in the Cardiff area. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe collection, transportation, and delivery of waste and recycling containers using a hookloader vehicle.
Location: Cardiff
Hours: Saturday to Monday, 7:00am – 4:45pm
Pay Rate: £14.59 per hour (basic)
Weekend/Overtime Rate: £21.89 per hour
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a Class 2 Hookloader vehicle safely and efficiently.
- Transport waste and recycling containers between designated locations.
- Carry out daily vehicle inspections and complete defect reports.
- Ensure compliance with road transport regulations and company procedures.
- Maintain accurate records and paperwork.
- Deliver excellent service while representing the organisation professionally.
Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence.
- Valid Driver CPC qualification.
- Valid Digital Tachograph Card.
- Good understanding of drivers' hours and road transport regulations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong commitment to health and safety.
- Previous hookloader experience is needed.
