TDK Mechanical Services is a growing multi-disciplinary contractor delivering mechanical, electrical, gas, plumbing and utilities services across a wide range of commercial and residential environments. As our business continues to expand, we are creating a dedicated Health & Safety Officer position to ensure we maintain the highest standards of safety, compliance and operational excellence.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Health & Safety professional to shape and support our health and safety culture across the business.
The Role
Reporting to the Head of Operations, you will work closely with Project Managers, Contract Managers and operational teams to ensure that health and safety standards are maintained across all areas of the business.
This is a hands-on role involving regular site visits, audits, compliance monitoring and supporting managers with the preparation and review of Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
You will be based primarily from our Epping office, with travel to our Kentish Town office and operational sites as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits across active projects.
- Support managers with the preparation and review of RAMS.
- Work alongside operational teams to ensure compliance with company procedures and legal requirements.
- Deliver toolbox talks, safety briefings and health & safety communications.
- Carry out internal audits, including site inspections and vehicle spot checks.
- Maintain and update company health & safety policies and procedures.
- Support the management and maintenance of company accreditations and certifications.
- Ensure office health & safety requirements are managed effectively across all locations.
- Monitor corrective actions arising from audits and inspections.
- Support investigations into accidents, incidents and near misses.
- Maintain accurate health & safety records and compliance documentation.
- Monitor legislative changes and support the implementation of any required updates.
- Promote a positive and proactive health & safety culture throughout the organisation.
About You
Essential
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a Health & Safety role within the construction industry.
- IOSH Managing Safely, NEBOSH General Certificate, NVQ in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent qualification.
- Strong understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation and HSE requirements.
- Experience preparing and reviewing RAMS.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to build strong working relationships across all levels of the business.
Desirable
- Experience within M&E, Building Services or Facilities Management.
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate.
- Internal Auditor qualification.
- Experience supporting ISO accreditations and compliance systems.
- Experience using SimPro and/or H&S HQ.

Pay: Up to £45,000.00 per year
