Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all road safety regulations. This role requires a strong commitment to customer service and the ability to manage routes efficiently. Experience with curtain sided vehicles with tail lifts is preferred, but not essential.
Responsibilities
- Operate lorries in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
- Transport goods to designated locations, ensuring timely delivery while maintaining the quality of the cargo.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Load and unload cargo, securing it properly for transport. This can include manual handling, the driver will have to be physically fit.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, customer paperwork
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving with a valid driving licence appropriate for lorry operation.
- Strong navigation skills and familiarity with local and regional routes.
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members.
- Ability to perform physical tasks associated with loading and unloading cargo safely.
The shifts will generally be 12-15 hour shifts Monday to Friday.
