About the Role
Sushi Daily is a fresh sushi takeaway kiosk located inside Waitrose in York. We prepare high-quality, freshly made sushi every day and are looking for a reliable and hardworking Sushi Chef / Team Member to join our team on a full-time basis.
Previous sushi-making experience is advantageous but not essential. Candidates with previous kitchen or food preparation experience are also encouraged to apply. Full training on Sushi Daily products, recipes and procedures will be provided.
Responsibilities
- Prepare fresh sushi including maki, nigiri, sashimi and other Japanese food items.
- Prepare ingredients and food to Sushi Daily's quality standards.
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and food safety.
- Carry out regular stock checks and assist with stock ordering.
- Replenish ingredients, packaging and displays throughout the day.
- Keep the kitchen, equipment and work areas clean and organised.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures.
- Serve customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Work efficiently with other team members during busy periods.
- Follow all company, food safety and health & safety procedures.
Requirements
- Previous sushi-making experience is advantageous but not essential.
- Previous kitchen, catering or food preparation experience is preferred.
- Good understanding of food hygiene and food safety.
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Flexible to work weekdays and weekends.
- Must have the right to work in the UK.
What We Offer
- £12.71 per hour.
- Guaranteed 40 hours per week.
